Many of the casino games we play today have remained virtually unchanged for the past several centuries. Why are variations so rare, and completely new games, even more so? Well it turns out there are a few different types of table games found scattered around the world, it’s just that casinos, and more so casino-goers, are apparently incredibly fussy.
1. Triple Zero Roulette
You may know of European and American roulette, and how the American version has two zeros, and almost twice the house edge? Well, what about triple zero roulette with three times the house edge?
Also known as the Sands Roulette, it was first introduced in the Las Vegas Venetian and Palazzo casinos, owned by Las Vegas Sands Corporation. The game is actually designed so that a player can go for longer and lose less money over-all than the American version. However, due to the super high house edge, the casinos have to entice people to play by lowering the minimum bet.
2. Double Spin Roulette
Another unique type of roulette, this one is commonly found in South Africa and is exclusive to the Sun International casino group.
It is a variation of American roulette and is played in generally the same manner. An additional added rule, however, gives it its name. After all standard betting is done, the dealer will then ask anyone who won a numerical bet if they would like to take the “double spin bet” on their winning number. If accepted, the player must bet their full winnings for the round. Winning the bet will pay out 1,250 to 1.
3. Arizona Hold’em
Texas Hold’em’s less famous baby cousin, Arizona Hold’em is a relative newcomer to casino world. And it’s also not from Arizona, or anywhere close to where US players at Lucky Creek hail from. Instead, it’s another invention from Southern Africa, and is found nowhere else.
In Arizona Hold’em, players receive three cards while dealer gets just two. The dealers’ cards are the “community cards”, which are essentially the flop used to complete the player’s hand. The betting process though, is similar to other poker, and the standard poker hands are used.
4. S7REAK
S7REAK is casino game that is native to Australia in the New Games Lab at the Crown Resort. It is completely unique game tithe the object of drawing seven consecutive cards of the same colour.
The player can place four different bets, Red, Black, No S7REAK, or Suit Up. The player begins by drawing a card, which designates the colour for the game. The player continues to card until the opposite colour is reached, or seven of the same colour. No S7REAK is the lowest payout, just 1 tot 1, while the highest is 100 to 1, for 7 of a colour with a Suit Up bet.
There a few other rare casino games hidden here and there at various casinos around the world. Others are antiquities lost to time. What’s clear though, when creating a new casino game, it’ll probably need to be something truly exceptional to get noticed by us stubborn casino-goers!
